Isn't Technorati just an awful site?

When visiting Technorati I feel as though I'm in a pharmacy . Also, the layout and the ease of navigation is horrendous. Who agrees with me?

when I first started blogging I used to check Techno-rateless everyday but I quickly lost interest, I value regular comments on my blogs higher than "authority" does that make sense to you?

Btw what's the music on your blog? love it!

I agree with both of you. Technorati isn't even accurate anymore. I joined a meme last year with both my wordpress and my blogger blogs. They were both entered on the list consecutively. The list is passed on and the members each then get links as it goes around. When I check my Technorati 'authority' now though... it records my more popular blog (fracas.wordpress.com) as having less authority than the now-ignored and less popular (justfracas.blogspot.com) one.

This can't be accurate. The blogger one is not updated, has little traffic and if they're both getting links from the meme still... the wordpress blog should still have more authority than the blogger blog.

They've become irrelevant as a marker for how well a blog is doing. Most people know that by now and that's why you don't see those 'authority' widgets in sidebars anymore.

Sylvie Dixie, I understand what you say there. For me it's the same... the interaction and regular comments mean much more.

The music is from the Tindersticks... god, it's wonderful isn't it?! They have never been very successful, but for years they've been creating the most fantastic music. Their texts are great as well... they're one of those rare bands that cross over from music to art. Their early stuff is better than their latest.

Ps: The Techno@!*i widget that was on my blog has now been replaced by a FMB one.

Sylvie, there is a version in french of No More Affairs/Plus de Liasons. They also collaborated with Claire Denis on her film Trouble Everyday and I think they have done the soundtrack to her latest film... though I've not seen that yet.

Funny thing about that is that in the last two months, two AdSence style companies have turned me down because my Technorati ranking was so low.

I have no doubt that it is low, but still... I do see inaccuracies there.

I am a member of it but in truth i just go there to ping my blogs. there is just something wrong with. It is either too busy looking or something. Every time the page loads up i look at it and i feel lost. Like ok now what do i do.I tried giving it fair shake but, all it is good for is the pinging. Even that isn't kept updated.

I signed up, went back once or twice and never really got into it. Someone sent me message in Technorati, but i couldnt work out how to view it, lol - so i left it.

Technorati - awfully so.

Yes, exactly the same case here!

Signed up, went there once or twice... could not figure out much... decided I was too dumb for it- and never went back.
